Project details

Norfolk Foster Care wanted to create emotive, hard-hitting online videos to recruit new foster carers.

Working to treatments provided, I drafted shooting scripts that were then produced by Lambda Films.

The carer

Female voiceover:

She’s been through so much.  And she’s still only a child.

But I’m here to support her.

I can’t do it from my comfort zone. I have to go right to the edge. Where she lives her life.

We’re in this together.  And we’ll get through it together.

The foster child

Male teenager voiceover:

Back then, I could never fit in. I was like a spare part nobody needed.

When they said I was going to a foster family, I was like, ‘whatever’.

But it’s a lot better now.

My foster parents do the things my parents can’t. It’s not a big deal to them. But it is to me.

I’m not trying to fix everything on my own anymore.
